Collaborating for Climate Solutions
Who We Are:
ClimateMax is a national table of leading policy and legal experts working across issues and movements, including - climate, housing, public health, civil rights, and environmental justice - to share intel, coordinate strategies, and reach and engage more communities. It is convened and facilitated by Just Solutions.
What’s at Stake:
As the climate crisis continues to escalate, people are facing immediate threats to their health, economic security, and safety, and many feel disempowered, misled, or ignored by their representatives at all levels of government.
Our Role:
Expand our collective reach and win the support of a broader section of the public. Members cover all 50 states.
Identify solutions and actions that local and state leaders can take to protect gains, defend against attacks, and continue the long-term work of driving climate policy solutions. See our Report - Defending and Advancing Climate Justice Policies - for more details.
Invest in the policy expertise and capacity of organizations that work in trusted partnerships with communities most impacted by the climate crisis, identifying gaps and needs in the field, and creating shared resources for advocates and policymakers.

Our History:
We came together in early 2024 to collaborate on maximizing the benefits of what were then historic investments in clean energy and climate justice. As the election drew closer, we identified the need to collectively assess and prepare for a range of potential outcomes. Together, nearly 75 leading policy experts collaborated on - Defending and Advancing Climate Justice Policies - to catalyze action at the local and state level in response to the new administration’s blatant and unprecedented attack on climate justice, civil rights, and our democratic institutions.
Current Priorities:
As we head into mid term elections, ClimateMax seeks opportunities to increase collaboration across sectors and issues to build the political will and infrastructure required for a more coordinated national strategy. We will continue to track the federal landscape and strategize around the most urgent threats. We will also collaborate on a mid-term election guide to help our communities engage in our democracy to advance impactful and innovative solutions.
